If You Smell Gas
- Do not turn any electrical switches on or off
- Open windows and doors
- Turn off gas at the meter outside
- Get everyone outside

Annual Gas Appliance Checks
Gas appliances should be serviced annually — hot water system, gas heater, cooktop. A service checks for incomplete combustion, all connections, and confirms safe operation.
Carbon Monoxide — The Silent Risk
Carbon monoxide is produced when gas does not burn completely. Colourless and odourless — undetectable without an alarm. Every home with gas appliances should have a CO alarm near the heater and near sleeping areas.
The Licence Requirement
All gas work in Victoria must be done by a licensed gasfitter. Unlicensed work is dangerous and voids insurance. Nick is a licensed gasfitter and certificates every job.
